Tim has more than 28 years' experience in intellectual property and information technology law.

Tim is a highly experienced adviser on copyright, designs, confidential information and trade marks, as well as trade practices issues dealing with misleading and deceptive conduct. He is adept at drafting licensing, distribution and franchising agreements. He also undertakes substantial work in registering and protecting trade marks and domain names. His IT practice extends to the drafting and negotiating of software distribution agreements and escrow agreements, as well as advising clients on intellectual property and information technology aspects of business and share acquisitions and dispositions.

Tim's vast experience includes advising Australian Grand Prix Corporation, Country Road, Cricket Australia, Christian Dior, Dairy Australia, Décor, Dun & Bradstreet, Ford Motor Company, The Herald and Weekly Times, Just Jeans, Kraft Foods Limited, Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Corporation, Melbourne Rebels, Nike, Philip Morris, Sara Lee, Simplot (Leggo's etc), TAG Heuer, Tommy Hilfiger, Tyco, VAAM Management (Mark Webber), Victoria Racing Club, Victorian State Government and Wesfarmers.

Tim is a registered trade marks attorney and a partner of the firm's associated firm, Allens Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys, where he is in charge of trade mark filings for a range of clients. He is a member of the International Association for the Protection of Industrial Property, the International Trademark Association, and the Victorian Society for Computers and the Law. He has authored and co-authored a number of proposals to government on behalf of the Law Council of Australia's Intellectual Property Committee, and is an adviser to the Trade Marks Sub-Committee of that Intellectual Property Committee.
