Transition

This archive contains commentaries we wrote on FSR transition issues.

FSR became law on 27 September 2001, but the commencement date for most of the provisions was 11 March 2002. From that date, transitional arrangements applied to many of the important licensing, disclosure and financial markets requirements, giving some people affected up to two years to comply.

The transitional period ended on 10 March 2004 so that from 11 March 2004, anyone who conducts a financial services business or operates a financial market will generally need to be appropriately licensed under the FSR laws. For further information about licensing, refer to our licensing and markets licensing sections.

The transition period ended on 10 March 2004 and these pages are no longer updated. This archive remains on this website for historical purposes only.

(Refer to each section for details of the date on which the section was last updated.)
