Rachel Nicolson recognised as LGBTI champion

Led by Rachel Nicolson

Allens partner, Rachel Nicolson, has been recognised for being a champion of LGBTI people in the workplace by the Australian Centre for Leadership for Women (ACLW).

The inaugural Award recognised the role that Rachel played in empowering LGBTI women in an organisation

Rachel is an executive sponsor of Allens' LGBTI network, ALLin, which provides opportunities for members to build relationships with each other, the firm's clients and the wider community through events, networking and the provision of pro bono legal assistance to the LGBTI community.

Commenting on the acknowledgement, managing partner, Richard Spurio said the firm was immensely proud of its inclusive culture.

'We are very proud that Rachel's achievements have been recognised by this award. As the first law firm to be a member of Pride in Diversity and a Top 10 corporate in the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) awards we take our commitment to building a supportive and inclusive culture very seriously,' Richard said.

Empowering other members of Allens' ALLin community to lead change throughout the organisation, Rachel works with senior members of the firm to ensure change occurs.

'Recognition from ACLW is very rewarding – I am very proud of ALLin and all that we have achieved so far. We will keep working to ensure that everyone at Allens feels respected within our organisation,' Rachel said.
