Allens acts for TenCate on sale of A$40 million joint venture interest

16 July 2009

Allens Arthur Robinson (Allens) has acted for Royal Ten Cate (TenCate), the multinational textile technology and chemical company, on the sale of a 50 per cent joint venture interest to JV partner Noel P Hunt International Limited.

The sale of the joint venture interest, which includes their Australian geofabrics business, brought together parties in jurisdictions as diverse as the USA, the Netherlands, South Africa, Austria and Australia.

Allens advised long-time client TenCate on the deal, with Partner Steve Clifford – alongside Lawyers Adam Santa Maria and Jessica Choong and IP Partner Tim Golder - working from the Melbourne office to close the deal in a little over a week.

According to Mr Clifford: 'This was a challenging transaction involving different parties, time-zones and jurisdictions across the world, coupled with a range of complexities – including the need to get across 17 transaction documents in a tight time frame.'

'The deal required an extraordinary effort from everyone and I am proud of how the team worked to pull the deal together in just over a week.'
