Allens acts for underwriters on NAB's $2.75 billion placement
22 July 2009
Allens Arthur Robinson (Allens) has acted for the joint lead managers and underwriters - Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs JBWere and Merrill Lynch – of the A$2 billion institutional placement by National Australia Bank (NAB) announced on 22 July 2009.
NAB will also offer up to A$750 million of shares under a non-underwritten share purchase plan.
The Allens team was led by Partner and Co-Head of Equity Capital Markets Robert Pick and included Senior Associate Emin Altiparmak.
'It was a pleasure to work with the teams from Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs JBWere and Merrill Lynch on putting together another important capital raising for NAB,' said Mr Pick.
Allens' role on the NAB placement continues the strong flow of high-end capital markets work undertaken by the firm in the 12 months ending 30 June 2009 – during which the firm acted on six of the 10 largest capital raisings in the Australian market, including acting as issuer's counsel on three of the five largest capital raisings.
'We expect that the Allens team will continue to be busy working on capital markets transactions for the remainder of the calendar year,' Mr Pick added.
