Allens appoints oil and gas partner to Perth office

23 July 2012

Allens has appointed Tracey Greenaway as a partner in the firm's oil and gas practice in Perth.

Ms Greenaway, who is Shell International Senior Legal Counsel and will join Allens on 1 October, has been with Shell for eight years, working in London, The Hague and Perth. Before that, she worked for eight years with Linklaters.

Allens Chairman Ewen Crouch said Ms Greenaway's appointment is the latest move to continue building the firm's Perth practice and its market-leading regional oil and gas practice. It also reflects the firm's response to client demand in energy and resources, as evidenced earlier this month with the appointment of Jo Daniels in Brisbane, whose work will be focused on the resources sector.

'Tracey has extensive experience in the development and commercialisation of LNG projects and has worked on a wide range of oil and gas matters across the world,' Mr Crouch said.

'Before joining Shell, Tracey was part of Linklaters' Global Projects team, advising on the financing and restructuring of international energy and infrastructure projects.

'Tracey is an outstanding addition to our oil and gas practice.'

Perth Practice Director Andrew Pascoe said Ms Greenaway's appointment reflected the firm's continuing investment in its Perth practice.

'It has been well documented that Western Australia continues to play a leading role in driving both the Australian economy and the Asia Pacific economy,' Mr Pascoe said.

'Tracey becomes the third new partner to join the Perth Energy & Resources group since July last year, with the appointment of Jodi Reinmuth and the lateral appointment of Anthony Patten last year.

'We feel the energy and resources sector will continue to deliver major projects driven out of Western Australia but also across the region in the coming years. The firm is strongly focused on ensuring that it continues to play a leading role in these major projects, from project inception and development, through financing and operational phases.

'This is an exciting announcement for our Perth office, and reflects the energy and ambition of our entire team here.'
