Perth market is hot property
4 August 2010
The Perth office of Allens Arthur Robinson (Allens) has boosted its real estate team as the knock-on effects of the resources boom continue in Western Australia.
According to Real Estate Practice Group Leader Mark Stubbings, the firm has seen an increasing volume of commercial property work, driven largely from the increased resources success experienced in Western Australia in recent years.
'Our national clients are looking to be more active in Perth, therefore the firm is responding to the needs of our clients,' said Mr Stubbings.
Senior Associate Teresa Lusi has moved from our Sydney office to join the Perth real estate team which includes Special Counsels Rosemary Martin and Robyn Glindemann. The team has also been greatly strengthened with the acquisition of property law specialist Helen Kay.
Ms Lusi has experience in advising private, corporate and government clients on acquisitions and disposals of commercial and retail properties and businesses, infrastructure projects, leasing, conducting due diligence investigations and other general commercial and property matters.
The move sees Ms Lusi returning to her hometown of Perth after working at the firm's Sydney office since 2005.
'The resources boom in the west is energising all sectors of the local economy, in particular property, and it is important that we respond to clients' needs,' said Mr Stubbings.
'We have been excited by the growth in our real estate practice in Perth over recent years, and are very pleased to be investing further in the next phase of this growth. The Perth practice will continue to work closely with our teams in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.'
'The addition of Teresa and Helen to join Rosemary and Robyn will provide further support for our highly valued clients with real estate interests in Perth and other parts of Western Australia.'
Said Ms Lusi: 'Allens takes a one firm approach and the experience and contacts I have made in the east, both inside and outside of the firm, will help in meeting clients' needs in what I consider, for me, a home market.'
Perth Practice Leader Andrew Pascoe said the firm would be announcing further appointments in the Perth office shortly, reflecting the growth of the office across the board and the unique value proposition we are able to offer talented lawyers.
