'On behalf of the Partners and staff of Allens Arthur Robinson, I congratulate our new Partners. I am sure they will be key contributors to the firm's ongoing success,' said Chairman, Jim Thynne.

'I am pleased at the geographical diversity of the appointments, with the successful candidates to work in four different offices across the Asia-Pacific region. This reflects the strength of our national and international networks.'

'The two new Partner appointments in the Perth office show Allens Arthur Robinson's commitment to Western Australia and our confidence in the legal market there, as well as the calibre of the two new Partners appointed,' said Managing Partner, Tom Poulton.

A short profile of each Partner-elect follows:

Stephen McComish
Stephen joined AAR in 2004 as a Special Counsel in the Energy, Resources and Infrastructure Department in Perth. He was previously a partner at Hollingdales and before that Kott Gunning. Stephen's practice primarily focuses on assisting clients involved in construction disputes, where he has a reputation of long standing in litigation, arbitration, mediations, coronial inquiries, prosecutions and ministerial inquiries. He also has experience in front-end construction work. Stephen is based in AAR's Perth office.

Victoria Poole
Victoria joined AAR in 2001. She first completed a BSc at Auckland University and then had sales and marketing roles with 3M, ICI and Merck Sharpe and Dohme. She then pursued classical singing for six years, before completing a degree in Law with first class honours and a Masters in Law at the University of Sydney. Victoria then worked at Mallesons Stephen Jaques before joining AAR. Victoria's practice areas are mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets and funds management. Victoria is based in AAR's Sydney office.

Kim Reid
Kim joined AAR in 2002. He grew up in Western Australia and was first admitted to practice in Western Australia in 1995. After completing his articles he began work with Ilbery Barblett in Perth. Kim relocated to Sydney in 1996 to work with Dunhill Madden Butler (later PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal) until 2001. Kim is an experienced commercial litigator who handles a wide range of disputes in a number of jurisdictions. His core practice areas are corporate and securities litigation, corporate insolvency and restructuring and regulatory investigations. Kim will return to AAR's Perth office.

Matthew Skinner
Matthew joined AAR in September 1999. Matthew has an Honours Degree in Law from the University of London and has practiced in the London offices of Clyde & Co and Herbert Smith. Matthew is an excellent litigator, with outstanding skills in insurance, reinsurance, banking and commercial disputes. He became a Senior Associate in 2000. Matthew is based in AAR's Sydney office.

Ben Zillmann
After completing a Bachelor of Business at University of Southern Queensland, Ben completed a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) at Queensland University of Technology in 1995. The next year Ben commenced as an Articled Clerk with the firm, going on to work in the areas of resources, energy, native title and the environment. Ben is based in AAR's Brisbane office.

Robert Clarke
Robert has been a Special Counsel with AAR since 2004. Robert obtained an Arts/ Law degree (Honours) from Monash University in 1994 and completed his articles with Blake Dawson Waldron in Melbourne. He remained with that firm until 2000. Robert moved to the corporate and finance department of White & Case in Singapore in mid-2000, and then joined Slaughter and May in Singapore in early 2002, shortly after the establishment of the 'Best Friends' relationship with AAR. Robert joined AAR's Singapore office in August 2004. Robert has been involved in projects around the region for over six years, focussing on M&A, Corporate and Project Finance. Robert continues to be based in AAR's Singapore office.
