Partner Michelle Levy was announced as 'Partner of the Year' in the Financial Services category at last night's Lawyers Weekly inaugural awards ceremony held in Sydney.

Michelle is a financial services regulatory specialist who works extensively with the wealth management areas of the major banks, life and general insurance companies and superannuation funds.

'It was a wonderful and unexpected honour to win this award. Our financial services clients have to deal with significant amounts of really difficult regulation and, one of the best parts of coming to work is being able to help our clients with all of the complexity so that they can focus on their businesses and their customers,' Michelle said.

'We have a fantastic cross-practice financial services regulation team at Allens – partners, lawyers, business development staff, and this award is absolutely a reflection of everyone's enthusiasm for what we do,' Michelle said.

Other partners who were named as finalists in the awards include:

  • Niranjan Arasaratnam: Technology, Media and Communications
  • Fiona Crosbie: Competition, Trade and Regulation
  • James Darcy: Banking and Finance
  • Martin Fry: Taxation
  • Wendy Rae: M&A
  • Belinda Thompson: Dispute Resolution and Litigation
  • Emma Warren: Construction and Infrastructure

Allens Managing Partner Richard Spurio commented on the impressive field of partners across all categories who were named as finalists and the number of female partners.

'Warm congratulations to Michelle and her team for winning this award. It is a great testament to the outstanding work the whole team does across the funds, super and wealth spectrum,' Richard said.
