Allens has acted on the sale and project financing of AGL Energy Limited's (AGL) 200-megawatt wind farm venture in western NSW – Silverton – into the Powering Australian Renewables Fund (PARF).

The PARF is a partnership between AGL, QIC and the Future Fund that supports the investment and development of large-scale renewable energy projects.

The $450 million Silverton project is the first green-field project to be developed by the PARF and complements the two solar plants AGL transferred into the fund initially.

Partners Kate Axup and Michael Ryan led the Allens team and commented that it was very rewarding to work with AGL on its PARF venture.

'Working with AGL on its commitment to the PARF is exciting as it is about securing competitive financing and electricity sales commitments that contribute to achieving the 2020 renewable energy target and assisting the transition of Australia's energy production market,' said Kate Axup.
