Allens has advised Bain Capital Private Equity on its acquisition of Camp Australia, a leading provider of outside school hours care programs.

Camp Australia has more than 28 years of experience providing before and after school hours care and partners with more than 700 schools across Australia.

The acquisition of Camp Australia complements Bain Capital's existing education portfolio, including its majority stake interest in Only About Children and its investment in Bright Horizons, a top-tier early childhood services provider based in the United States.

Bain Capital is one of the world's leading private equity firms and has raised 11 global funds. Bain has made approximately 300 investments and currently has over US$75 billion in assets under management.

Commenting on the transaction, lead partner Tom Story said that it presented a great opportunity for Bain to continue its proven track record of successfully investing in the education sector.

The transaction closed on 28 February 2017.
