The RegTech Association, a first-of-its-kind industry body designed to promote Australia's growing regulatory technology industry, has launched with Allens as one of its corporate sponsors.

Hosted in Allens' Sydney office on 30 March, the launch brought together 13 founding Association members with corporate stakeholders, regulators and influencers to discuss the future of RegTech and ways to improve collaboration.

The Association aims to promote good corporate practice in compliance management, creating a network of changemakers to engage with stakeholders, advance the use of regulatory technology and enhance regulatory compliance outcomes.

Foundation members of the Association include Arctic Intelligence, AML Accelerate, Complii, Cynopsis Solutions, Dynamic GRC, Dysrupt Labs, GRC Solutions, identitii, Meetig8, Red Marker, SimpleKYC and Verifier, with Allens a corporate sponsor.

'We are very pleased to be supporting the RegTech Association as a corporate sponsor,' said Allens Partner Belinda Thompson.

'In supporting the Association, we hope to foster collaboration with the Association members and our clients to make better use of regulatory technology to navigate an increasing volume of regulatory compliance, demand for information, and integration of traditional compliance with cyber security.

'We know that many of our clients are looking at ways to improve investment in compliance and risk technology.

'We are looking forward to using insights from our work with the RegTech Association to help our clients extend their use of technology and make compliance processes both more efficient and effective,' Belinda said.

Allens, along with its clients, is increasingly using artificial intelligence and other technologies as part of its services. The firm's alternative legal services offering, a+, is one of the fastest growing areas of the firm.
