Allens is proud to have been GoldLinQ's legal partner on the procurement and delivery of the $420m Gold Coast Light Rail (stage 2) project – one of the first successful PPP (public-private partnership) augmentations in Australia.

The Allens team was led by Nicholas Ng who has been advising on the development and delivery of both stages of the project since 2010.

'Congratulates to GoldLinQ, the State of Queensland, Keolis Downer and CPB Contractors on successfully achieving completion of Stage 2 of the Gold Coast Light Rail well ahead of next year's Commonwealth Games,' said partner Nicholas Ng.

Partner David Donnelly, who leads Allens' Infrastructure & Transport and Sector, said the project was another example of Allens partnering with its clients across the whole lifecycle of a project.

'We've assisted GoldLinQ throughout the life and across the breadth of this evolving project.

'From the original bid, through to successful delivery of the first stage and then straight on to the augmentation process and through to the delivery of the second stage,' David said.

'We greatly value our long term partnership with GoldLinQ, and are proud to have been part of delivering another successful milestone on this transformative public infrastructure project,' Nicholas concluded.
