Banking & Finance Financial Services

Allens has welcomed David Couper into its Banking & Finance team, adding to the firm's existing strong leveraged finance practice.

David joins as Managing Associate, in what is his first role since returning to Australia from Hong Kong. In the eight years he spent overseas, David worked at Allens' global alliance partner Linklaters before being appointed Partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

'David adds additional depth to our leveraged finance practice and also supports the continued growth of our private equity practice,' said Practice Group Leader, Tom Highnam.

David has advised on financing transactions across the Asia-Pacific Region for a variety of global private equity sponsors, arrangers and hedge funds, including Advent International, Bain Capital, Baring Private Equity, Blackstone, Hillhouse Capital and KKR.

'David is a specialist in leveraged finance, but also brings with him a wealth of experience in advising private equity sponsors on all of their debt needs. We're delighted to welcome him on board,' said Tom.

Allens has one of the largest and most dynamic Banking & Finance practices in the country and has taken leading roles in most of the landmark leveraged buyout deals, representing both private equity sponsors and their lenders.
