Allens tops project finance transaction value for 2017

24 January 2018

Allens has topped the Inframation Deals Project Finance League Table for deal value in Australia and New Zealand in 2017.

The firm advised on transactions with a combined value of over $29.5 billion, more than $10 billion ahead of its nearest competitor.

This included advice on some of the most significant project finance deals in the market, including the $11 billion Melbourne Metro Project and the partial 99-year lease of Endeavour Energy's NSW electricity distribution network, which delivered $7.624 billion to NSW in gross proceeds.

Allens also advised on a number of renewable energy projects which contributed to a surge in greenfield activity in 2017, including the Stockyard Hill Wind Farm Project, the Coopers Gap Wind Farm Project and numerous solar projects.

'We are honoured to have been entrusted by our clients with some of the most complex and high profile project finance transactions of the year,' said Michael Ryan (view CV), Allens' Head of Project Finance.

'Our number one ranking is testament to the depth and breadth of our team's capability across all sectors of project finance activity in Australia.'
