About Karla Fraser
Karla's practice focuses on property finance, project and infrastructure finance and corporate finance, across a number of sectors, including real estate, resources, agribusiness, healthcare and infrastructure.
Karla has extensive national and international cross-border experience in finance transactions, having spent over eight years working at a magic circle firm in London, prior to returning to Allens in 2007. Karla's experience includes construction finance and acquisition financing, and she acts for financiers including non-bank lenders, syndicates, sponsors, developers and borrowers. Karla has also been involved in financing aspects of major infrastructure projects and PPPs in the social infrastructure sector.
Having advised extensively on 'both sides' of a financing transaction, Karla is well known for being pragmatic and solutions-oriented, and providing advice that is concise, relevant and commercially realistic.
Karla advises a wide range of clients, including the state government and government-owned corporations, Australian and international banks and financial institutions and a number of Australian corporates, including AACo, Aurelia Metals, Central Petroleum, Cerberus, Epic Energy, Michael Hill, Queensland Sugar, Retire Australia and Senex Energy. Karla is an expert on the personal property securities regime in both Australia and Papua New Guinea and regularly delivers bespoke training packages on the PPSA to banking and corporate clients.
Karla has been recognised as a preeminent lawyer in Doyle's Leading Banking & Finance Lawyers – Brisbane, for consecutive years since 2015.
