About Warwick Newell
Warwick advises on a broad range of transactions across the banking and finance market, with particular expertise in corporate and acquisition finance, restructurings and workouts, leveraged finance and property finance. Warwick acts for a range of lenders in the Australian market (banks, non-bank lenders and private capital debt providers), along with a number of ASX listed and privately owned companies, and is recognised for his commercial and solutions-based approach to addressing legal issues alongside his deal and project management skills.
Warwick has over 20 years' experience in the restructuring and turnaround sector in Australia and Europe, recently advising the senior lenders to Freedom Foods, MMA Offshore, Swissport, McAleese and Cubbie Station. In addition to these matters, Warwick has recently advised on a variety of restructuring situations across the retail, property, mining and agricultural sectors, including acting on a number of loan-to-own transactions.
Across the corporate and acquisition finance space, Warwick's recent clients have included Reece, Newcrest, IDP Education, Bapcor, Australian Unity, Barings, Aware Super, REST, Lifestyle Communities and McMillan Shakespeare, and the lenders to Village Roadshow, Bega, Vicinity Centres, United Petroleum, ISPT, Elders, JB Hi-Fi, Iress and Growthpoint Properties.
