About Alf Pappalardo
Alf is the past leader of the firm's Australian and international restructuring and insolvency practice. He offers clients more than 33 years' experience in all aspects of restructuring, insolvency and commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
Alf acts across the range of insolvency administrations, including receiverships, administrations, liquidations safe harbours and schemes of arrangement. He regularly works alongside ANZ, CBA, NAB, Westpac and various other financiers and fund managers. He also regularly works with leading insolvency practitioners from Deloitte, Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Grant Thornton, KPMG, McGrath Nicol and Korda Mentha.
Some of the higher profile matters Alf has worked on include the insolvencies of:
- the Network Ten restructure;
- the G-Star Raw Voluntary administration;
- the Totally Smiles Voluntary administration; and
- the Virgin restructure (for the Queensland Government); and
- the receivership of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland
Alf regularly advises on commercial litigation and dispute resolution, and has extensive experience in all levels of State and Federal Courts, including appellate courts, the High Court and numerous other courts and tribunals, including the Land Court and the Australian Competition Tribunal.
He is regularly briefed by many of Australia's leading corporate and government entities. In addition to banks and financiers, Alf's disputes work extends to BHP Billiton, ENERGEX, Ergon, John Deere Limited, Santos Limited, Port of Brisbane Corporation, the Queensland Government, Queensland Investment Corporation, Sumitomo Corporation and Rio Tinto.
