Our commitment to reconciliation
Our First Nations Engagement Plan provides a framework for Allens to support national reconciliation. Allens acknowledges both a responsibility to contribute to reconciliation, and the importance of reconciliation to the culture of the firm and the future of Australia.
Allens' First Nations Engagement Plan supports reconciliation by forging pathways to justice, economic engagement and understanding, and builds on more than 13 years of focused effort to support reconciliation alongside our people and community partners.
The three pathways of our Plan
1. Pathways to justice
Providing pro bono support for First Nations organisations, communities and causes, increasing opportunities for our staff to engage with this work and strengthening our relationships with Traditional Owners of the lands on which we work.
2. Pathways to economic engagement
Contributing to the education, employment and mentoring of First Nations students, and maintaining our commitment to supporting First Nations-owned businesses.
3. Pathways to understanding
Embedding cultural safety in our workplaces and increasing the rigour around our internal Reconciliation Committees to further engage our staff.
