Former Managing Partner Richard Spurio recognised for his contribution to the legal profession

Former Managing Partner Richard Spurio has been recognised with one of the Law Institute of Victoria’s highest honours, receiving a Distinguished Service Award at the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) Legal Awards.

For many who worked with Richard during his decade as Managing Partner, the award is a significant recognition of his contribution to the firm and the wider legal profession.

Richard was recognised for his leadership of Allens from 2016 to 2026, including his contribution to lawyer development, diversity and inclusion, and the firm’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The LIV also acknowledged his support for First Nations engagement, sustainability and pro bono initiatives, as well as his contribution to broader discussions about the rule of law and artificial intelligence.

The Distinguished Service Award recognises individuals who have provided significant and distinguished service to the LIV or the legal profession over an extended period.

We congratulate Richard on this well-deserved recognition.
