Paul is an energy sector specialist whose practice spans the full lifecycle of complex energy projects, including electricity generation and storage, transmission and broader energy infrastructure, and oil and gas. His practice includes project development, procurement and construction, offtake arrangements and M&A transactions in this sector.

Power and energy infrastructure
- Snowy Hydro: advising on the procurement, construction and contract administration of the Snowy 2.0 pumped hydro storage project
- Transmission: advising the developers on the development, procurement and construction of greenfield transmission lines, including on the VNI West transmission project (Victorian portion) and the EnergyConnect interconnector
- PPA/offtake: advising on power purchase agreements (PPAs), corporate offtakes, long-term energy service agreements (LTESAs), Capacity Investment Scheme Agreements (CISAs) and other revenue support arrangements for renewable energy, storage and gas-fired generation projects in Australia and internationally
- Remote power: advising a remote power developer in connection with the construction, development and PPA arrangements for a greenfield remote power project
- Offshore wind: advising the sponsors and lenders on various offshore wind farms in Taiwan and Korea featuring complex disaggregated construction and operations strategies, including Jeonnam 1, Greater Changhua 2a and 2b, Greater Changhua 4, Hai Long, Formosa 4 and Anma*
Oil and gas
- LNG regasification terminals: advising on the development of proposed LNG regasification terminals in Australia and internationally
- Gas pipelines: advising on the development of new gas pipeline infrastructure including gas transportation and storage agreements
Energy M&A
- Renewables and storage: advising sponsors and investors on buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions in the energy sector, including acquisitions and disposals of wind and solar portfolios and battery storage projects
- Mitsui & Co Ltd: advising on its 49% investment in Kassø MidCo ApS, an affiliate of European Energy, and the construction aspects of its green e-methanol project through its subsidiary Solar Park Kassø ApS*
- Ørsted: advising on its divestment of 55% of the Greater Changhua 2a and 2b offshore wind projects, and divestment of 50% of the Greater Changhua 4 offshore wind project to Cathay Life Insurance*
