About Virosh Poologasundram
Virosh's practice focuses on funds management where he advises domestic and offshore fund managers on the establishment and operation of investment funds (eg access funds, co-investment funds and capital partnerships) across a range of asset classes, including real estate, infrastructure and energy, and private equity. He also advises institutional investors on their investments in Australian and offshore funds (including separately managed accounts and co-investment arrangements), and provides counsel on Australian financial services regulation and funds-related M&A.
Virosh also spent time at Linklaters in London, where he advised private equity firms and institutional investors on the establishment of, and investment in, private equity and real estate funds.
His recent experience includes advising:
- BlackRock on the establishment and operation of several Australian co-investment funds, including for Asia Property Fund V, Asia Property Fund VI and Global Renewable Power Fund III
- US headquartered access fund manager / fintech company on the establishment of several Australian access funds (both registered and unregistered schemes) investing in offshore managed funds sponsored by managers such as BlackRock, TPG and KKR, across a range of asset classes including private equity and private credit
- Charter Hall on the establishment of the A$3 billion Charter Hall Convenience Retail Fund, as well as advising on the ongoing operation of the Charter Hall Prime Industrial Fund and Charter Hall Prime Office Fund
- Oxford Properties on the establishment of, and investment in, the Hale Capital Logistics Fund (a capital partnership between Oxford Properties, Hale and Warburg Pincus) and the Hale Capital Investment Logistics Fund 2 (a capital partnership between Oxford Properties, Hale and GIC)
- Quinbrook on the establishment and structuring of the Quinbrook III Australian co-investment platform
- KKR on its upstream funds establishment with respect to its acquisition of ProTen and its investment in the HMC Energy Transition Platform
- Brookfield on the ongoing operation of, and on co-investment arrangements in relation to, its flagship Australian commercial real estate fund, Brookfield Premier Real Estate Partners Australia; on the establishment of an Australian access fund which will invest in a flagship offshore Brookfield fund
- Future Fund on its investment management arrangements with OMERS regarding its partial stake in Transgrid
- Tokyo Tatemono on its investment in the Lendlease Real Estate Partners 4 (a capital partnership between Lendlease, NSKRE and Tokyo Tatemono focused on Australian BTR investments)
- Potentum Partners on a range of fund of funds investments
- a broad range of Australian superannuation funds and offshore pension funds and sovereign wealth funds, including MLC, La Caisse, AustralianSuper and Future Fund, on Australian and offshore fund investments and co-investments.
