About Jialu Xu
Jialu is a Managing Associate in Allens' Banking & Finance team in Sydney.
He advises domestic and international lenders, private capital sponsors, fund managers and borrowers on a broad range of financing transactions, with a particular focus on fund finance and structured finance transactions. His experience includes subscription credit facilities (including separately managed account and equity-level gearing arrangements), net asset value (NAV) facilities, hybrid facilities and other bespoke financing solutions for private equity, infrastructure, private credit and venture capital funds. He has a special interest in the continued evolution of NAV financing products in Australia, particularly in relation to private credit funds and the use of securitisation technology in such transactions.
Jialu is a co-author of the Australian chapter of the Global Legal Insights Fund Finance guide and was awarded the international Fund Finance Association's 'Rising Star' award in 2025.

Jialu's recent matters include advising:
- Nuveen on its various fund-level financings;
- Aware Super on its equity level gearing capital call facility refinancings;
- advising on various loan-on-loan NAV facilities for a range of private credit sponsors and lenders;
- Macquarie Bank Ltd on various of its fund finance facilities for domestic and offshore funds;
- Westpac on a number of subline and separately managed account transactions;
- advising lenders on various fund level facilities for funds managed by PAG; and
- advising on securitisation warehouse transactions for various non-bank lenders in the Australian market.
