Allens has advised Acciona Energy on the development of the 132 megawatt Mt Gellibrand Wind Farm, located 25 kilometres east of Colac, Victoria.

'It has been a pleasure to work with Acciona Energy on another successful project ' said lead partner on the deal, Michael Graves, who has been advising on the development since 2009.

'We are looking forward to seeing the development progress alongside Australia's increasing pipeline of renewable energy assets.'

The development is the latest in a series of projects on which the Allens projects team, led by David Donnelly, has advised Acciona this financial year, including the Pūhoi to Warkworth motorway and the acquisition of Geotech.

It's been a busy year for Allens in the renewable energy sector, with the firm also advising on Pacific Hydro's global funding platform, on Goldwind's purchase of Stockyard Hill, on the development of the Manildra Solar Farm, on the Silverton wind farm sale and on innovative financings – including a portfolio facility involving the Whitsunday Solar Farm and funding arrangements for ARENA.

The Allens team was led by Michael Graves and included senior associate Emily Gerrard (who advised on planning-related matters) and partners Nicholas Ng and David Donnelly (who advised on construction and operational matters).
