Allens has advised leading Australian renewable energy company Spark Renewables on its successful bid for an access right in the South West Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), for its flagship Dinawan Energy Hub project.
The Dinawan Energy Hub was awarded 1,007MW of access rights by EnergyCo through a competitive tender process, which includes access rights for 707MW of wind, 300MW of solar and a 300MW / 1,200MWh battery energy storage system.
'We are thrilled to see Spark Renewables' Dinawan Energy Hub awarded access rights by EnergyCo. The project is significant for Australia's clean energy transition, with its strategic location and mix of wind, solar, and battery storage. We are very proud to have been part of the team that made reaching this milestone possible,' said lead Partner Melissa Keane.
The South West REZ is one of five declared REZs in NSW. The grant of access rights for the South West REZ represents a key milestone in unlocking new renewable energy generation in NSW.
