Allens advises on sustainability loan refinancing of ACT Law Courts PPP

Key adviser: Scott McCoy
Finance, Banking & Debt Capital

Allens has advised the financiers on the long-term refinancing of the syndicated debt facilities for the $135 million ACT Law Courts public private partnership (PPP).

The deal was structured as a sustainability loan, a growing trend for social infrastructure PPP transactions.

Juris Partnership Pty Ltd alongside its investors, Aberdeen Investments and MM Capital Partners (MMCP) engaged Tetris Capital as financial adviser on the transaction. The financiers included Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank and SBI Shinsei Bank.

'This transaction is part of a broader trend of lenders and sponsors prioritising ESG considerations, with financiers in particular increasing their emphasis on financing projects that deliver social and environmental benefits alongside financial returns,' said lead partner Scott McCoy.

The ACT Law Courts PPP is managed by Juris Partnership under a 25-year concession with the ACT Government.
