Jamil specialises in funds management and financial services regulation. He advises local and offshore fund managers and investors on the establishment of funds, investments, capital raisings and restructures in respect of existing funds. He also advises clients of financial services licensing and other regulatory requirements, including anti-money laundering laws.
Highlights of his relevant experience include advising:
- Octopus Investments Australia: on the establishment of two open-ended renewable energy investment funds (OASIS and OREO) that co-invest into an Australian renewable energy asset portfolio, across wind, solar and battery storage
- Greystar: on the establishment of its first multifamily fund in Australia with a consortium of investors, including Ivanhoé Cambridge, APG Asset Management and Ilmarinen
- MaxCap: on the establishment of the flagship debt fund vehicle, the MaxCap Investment Trust, and various feeder funds and investment mandates
- LOGOS Property Group (ESR): on the establishment of a consortium of investors in respect of the $1.67bn acquisition of Qube's Moorebank Logistics Park
- Westcoast Renewable Energy: on the establishment of a renewable energy portfolio, including an interest in the Whaleback Ridge Renewable Energy Project
- Greystar: on the establishment of its first Australian student accommodation assets fund and acquisition of a $1.6bn student accommodation portfolio
- Grosvenor: in relation to the establishment of a joint venture arrangement with Gateway Capital for the acquisition and management of a portfolio of properties located in Australia
- LOGOS Property Group (ESR): on the selldown of an interest in the Logos Australian Logistics Venture, an existing LOGOS-managed fund, to two institutional investors
- Mirvac: on the establishment of its $1.8bn build-to-rent fund.
