Penny specialises in funds management and financial services regulation. She advises a diverse range of Australian and international clients across the full spectrum of the funds management industry, with a particular focus on real estate investment trusts and the real estate sector. Penny has a wealth of experience advising clients such as Mirvac, LOGOS, and Goodman.
Highlights of her experience include advising:
- a confidential property developer – on its joint venture, through a unit trust structure, and investment management arrangements for the purpose of acquiring commercial office assets in NSW.
- Mirvac – on the establishment of an industrial and logistics fund known as the Mirvac Industrial Logistics Partnership between Mirvac and an investment vehicle sponsored by Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing.
- Greystar Australia – on the establishment of Greystar’s first Australian multifamily (build-to-rent) fund.
- LOGOS Property Group – on the establishment of a series of logistics real estate funds and investment mandates between 2014 and 2017 between Logos and various offshore sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and other institutional investors.
- Goodman Group-led consortium of global investors – on the A$1.4 billion acquisition of ING Industrial Fund and on the establishment of a wholesale 'club-style' fund known as Goodman Trust Australia.
- on the capital partnership arrangements between DEXUS Property Group and one of the largest institutional pension funds in the world, including their co-investment in a selection of DEXUS’ major Australian industrial property projects.
