The Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME) is a mentoring program that partners university students in a one-on-one relationship with Indigenous high school students. The ultimate goal of AIME is to see all their Indigenous students finish school at the same rate as their fellow Australians.
AIME was founded in 2005, with 25 university students working together with 25 Indigenous Year 9 students. By 2010, AIME was working with 1000 Indigenous high school students across the east coast of Australia, with over 1000 university students lining up to be involved as a mentor.
Thursday 21 July 2011 marked AIME's second National Hoodie Day. Across all Australian offices, Allens employees donned blue hoodies to raise awareness about Indigenous education and to show their commitment to the message that 'Indigenous can mean success'.
