Single Living Environment and Accommodation Precinct PPP
Advised Plenary Group in its successful bid to finance, design, construct and operate Phase 1 of the Single LEAP project. This PPP will deliver upgraded accommodation facilities for single members of the Australian Defence Force at three defence bases in Queensland and New South Wales, with the construction of 500 single-bedroom units at both the Gallipoli Barracks in Enoggera (South East Queensland) and Holsworthy (Sydney), and 300 more at RAAF Base Amberley (Ipswich).
Royal Children's Hospital PPP
Advised Babcock & Brown on the finance and equity aspects of its role as the sponsor of the consortium for the Royal Children's Hospital PPP under the State Government's Partnerships Victoria model.
Toowoomba Bypass
Advising the Queensland Government project team on the A$600 million Toowoomba Bypass Project, assessed by the Queensland Government as a PPP. The proposed bypass includes twin, three-lane 735 metre tunnels, located about 90 metres below the New England Highway.
Airport Link and Northern Busway PPP
Advised Leighton Contractors, as joint owner of the Northern Motorway consortium with ABN AMRO Australia, in its bid to design, construct, operate and maintain Queensland's A$3B Airport Link Northern Busway PPP project.
Mindarie Regional Council Resource Recovery Project
This project represents the first ever PPP in conducted by a regional council in Australia. The facility represents one of the most significant developments in waste disposal and treatment in Australia to date. Significant environmental and economic benefits will include reduced carbon dioxide emissions and the conversion of waste products into organic soil conditioners.
Oakajee Deep Water port
Advising the Western Australian State Solicitor's
Office on the development of the $1.5 billion Oakajee Port project, which will
provide rail access to iron ore miners and other port users in the region.
Brisbane transport projects
Advised Brisbane City Council on its proposal to invite
the private sector to undertake the development of a variety of major transport projects
within the inner city area, including a number of cross-river tunnels.
Burnett Water Infrastructure Project
The Queensland Government established Burnett
Water Pty Ltd to progress various infrastructure projects to enhance water supplies for
the Burnett region. We are advising Burnett Water on all legal aspects of the projects,
which includes Burnett River Dam.
Cross City Tunnel
Acted for the preferred consortium on this A$640 million BOOT/PPP
project. This landmark 2km east-west tunnel under Sydney's CBD is the first road project
developed under the NSW Government's PFP guidelines.
Lane Cove Tunnel Project
Advised the Lane Cove Express consortium on their tender
for this A$800 million project.
Machang Bridge Project
Advised the Korean Road Infrastructure Fund, who are
investing in the SGD$600 million Machang Bridge project, currently under construction.
Passenger transport re-franchising
Advising the Victorian Department of Infrastructure
on the re-franchising of the metropolitan tram and train franchises, which form the bulk
of the privatised public transport system in Melbourne.
Regional Fast Rail Project
Advised the Victorian Government on all legal and commercial aspects of this
project, including delivery mechanisms and contractual structures for the State,
the evaluation of bids from the private sector, and advice on existing
contractual relationships with private operators.
Southern Cross Station Redevelopment
Advised the Victorian Government on all legal and commercial aspects of the
project, including legal risk evaluation, advice on contractual structures and
packaging the project for delivery, and the range of private investment
opportunities.
Gateway Upgrade Project
Advising the Queensland Department of Main Roads on the $1.6 billion
duplication of the Gateway Bridge and upgrade of the Gateway Motorway. The
State's largest ever road project will be delivered in partnership with the
private sector, through a design, construct and maintain contract.
Mitcham-Frankston Freeway
Acting for the financiers of both bidding consortia, the Mitcham-Frankston
Freeway will be a 40km link connecting Melbourne's eastern and south eastern
suburbs due for completion in 2008. The project will be delivered under the
State Government's Partnerships Victoria policy.
Victoria Prisons project
Advising BoS International and Westpac in financing the successful tendering
consortium for the Victorian Prisons project. BoS International is arranging the
bank debt for the consortium comprised of Bilfinger Berger, Baulderstone
Hornibrook, United KG and NM Rothschild & Sons.
Basslink Project
Advising Pirelli who, in consortium with Siemens, are responsible for laying
the 295km undersea Basslink interconnector, which will run from Loy Yang in
Gippsland, Victoria across Bass Strait to Bell Bay in northern Tasmania, and
will be among the longest power connectors of its type in the world.
