Allens advises Ferrovial on Broadspectrum takeover

Infrastructure & Transport

Allens has advised Ferrovial Servicios S.A. on its successful takeover bid for Broadspectrum Limited (through its subsidiary Ferrovial Services Australia Pty Limited).

The deal occurred via an off-market takeover offer in respect of all Broadspectrum shares, with the total consideration for the deal more than $768 million.

With the involvement of Allens' alliance partner, Linklaters, the takeover was launched on 7 December 2015, the offer closed on 20 May 2016, and compulsory acquisition completed on 27 June 2016.

The transaction involved the takeover of a multinational company listed on the ASX and as such involved obtaining regulatory approvals in a number of foreign jurisdictions.

According to Guy Alexander, lead partner on the deal, the complexity of the deal showed Allens' depth of experience in public M&A and the strength of our alliance with Linklaters.
