Allens has advised Rio Tinto on the acquisition, via its participation in the Robe River Iron Ore Associates Joint Venture (Robe), of Zanthus Resources Pty Ltd's interest in the Yarraloola Iron Ore Project assets, which are adjacent to existing Robe operations.

The Allens team worked closely with Rio Tinto to navigate the complexities of the transaction, drawing on a multidisciplinary team to advise on all aspects of the matter, including M&A, financing, environment, native title and regulatory approvals.

'This matter highlights the ongoing commitment by Rio Tinto and its joint venture partners to the Western Australian iron ore resources industry. It was a pleasure to assist the Rio Tinto team on signing another strategic transaction,' said joint lead partners Jodi Reinmuth and Chris Blane.

'We place great value on our working relationship with the Rio Tinto team and are proud to have been involved.'
