Allens has advised Multiplex, construction partner to OSK Property, on the development of the $800 million AURA residential tower at the $3.5 billion Melbourne Square precinct in Southbank.
At 67 storeys, AURA will include 1800 sqm of ground-floor retail space and a range of resident amenities, including pools, spas, sun terraces and yoga and Pilates facilities.
AURA is the fourth tower Multiplex has built for OSK Property at Melbourne Square, with Allens having also advised Multiplex on the third stage of the precinct, BLVD.
'AURA is another significant stage in the development of Melbourne Square and reflects continued confidence in quality projects backed by experienced developers and contractors, despite challenging development conditions. We’re pleased to continue supporting Multiplex on the precinct and to build on our longstanding relationship,' partner David Donnelly said.
The project is backed by syndicated financing involving Maybank, HSBC, Bank of China and ICBC, reflecting continued lender appetite for major residential developments.
The matter builds on Allens’ longstanding relationship with Multiplex, including advising on the design and construction of the Australian Institute for Infectious Disease and the Atlas Melbourne development.
