About Dang Vu
Dang Vu is a Senior Associate in Allens’ Ho Chi Minh City office.
He has ten years' experience (PQE) practicing law in a wide range of fields and specialises in banking and corporate finance (including project financing and acquisition financing), capital markets and public M&A.
Dang is admitted as a lawyer in Ho Chi Minh City bar, Vietnam and graduated LLM with distinction at the University of Sussex, UK. He speaks fluent Vietnamese and English.
His recent experience includes advising:
- International Finance Corporation: on numerous financing transactions in Vietnam, including:
- a US$100m loan to, and US$75m green and blue bonds to be issued by, SeABank
- a US$50m green bonds issue by HD Bank
- a US$57m loan to finance two onshore wind power projects of REE Corporation
- a US$700m loan to finance the expansion of a production facility in Bac Ninh province and a greenfield production project in the Nghe An province of Goertek.
- International Finance Corporation and Proparco: on a US$300m green bonds issue by a major commercial bank in Vietnam
- Asia Development Bank: on a US$100m loan financing to be provided to China Everbright's Hong Kong listed subsidiary to finance up to six Waste-to-Energy Projects in Vietnam
- GuarantCo on:
- its guarantee in relation to VND1,000bn green bonds issued by IDI Corporation, a leading seafood manufacturer, being the first green bond issued by a non-financial corporation
- its guarantee in relation to approx. VND1,200bn green bonds issued by Hoa Binh Xuan Mai Clean Water Limited Liability company and Xuan Mai Ha Noi Clean Water Transmission Limited Company.
- Vingroup, Vinhomes and Vinfast: advising international investors and lenders on various international bonds and financing transactions relating to Vingroup and its subsidiaries
- BIM Energy: on a US$251m loan by commercial banks to finance BIM’s solar power projects
- Siam Commercial Bank: on a multi-billion dollar loan to be provided to the project company constructing the Long Son Petrochemical Plant project in Vietnam
- May Bank: on a US$135m cross-border bilateral loan for Viettel Global to finance its working capital and investments in its subsidiaries in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar
- Deutsche Bank: on a US$81m loan provided to Lodgis Hospitality Holdings to fund the acquisition of the majority stake in the Ho Tram Strip Resort in Vietnam
- Heineken Vietnam: on its acquisition of Carlsberg’ brewery in Vung Tau
- Abbott Pharmaceuticals: on its acquisition of Glomed Pharmaceutical and Domesco and various strategic M&A transactions and corporate matters in Vietnam
- Ho Tram Investments Limited: on its divesture from the Sanctuary resort project in Vung Tau province.
