Interviewing at Allens

An Allens interview is built around two things: us getting to know you and your experience, and you getting to know us. You will have the opportunity to meet with people from Allens in each interview and the discussions will be mostly conversational in nature. We encourage you to build rapport with your interviewers, embrace your curiosity and ask questions back.
If you have applied for a technical role, expect questions that focus on your expertise, and ability to speak to that subject matter.
Most importantly—be genuine, share your ambitions, know the firm and its values and let us know what sets you apart. Allens embraces uniqueness, innovation and diversity.
Review the job advert for the role you have applied for alongside your CV. Ensure you are prepared to speak in detail to the experiences you have outlined in your CV.
In the interview, we would like you to explain how your experiences have honed specific skills or technical capabilities relevant to the role you're applying for. The examples you use to back up your answers will help us really understand you—the way you like to work, how you respond in certain situations, what you've learned etc. You can use the STAR technique to frame your experiences: situation, task, action, result.
Consider what you are curious about and prepare a few questions to ask the interviewer, e.g. about the role or the firm itself.
We recommend dressing neatly and professionally.
Allens is supportive of people dressing according to their culture, gender identity and gender expression.
