International law firm Allens has advised global supply chain logistics company Brambles Limited on its acquisition of the Ferguson Group for an enterprise value of £320 million (US$545 million).
Ferguson Group is a leading provider of container solutions to the offshore oil and gas sector. The acquisition will see Brambles expand its specialist containers business, and is a further expansion of Brambles' containers offering in oil and gas.
The Allens team, led by Partner and Head of the firm's Investment Firms & Investment Management Sector Vijay Cugati, advised Brambles on all aspects of the acquisition.
The matter also saw the involvement of the firm's global integrated alliance partner, Linklaters. Linklaters was involved through its London, United Arab Emirates and Singapore offices. Allens advised Brambles on the competitive sale process, Australian competition law and regulatory aspects of the deal, and oversaw the matter's cross-border aspects, including a global competition review.
Mr Cugati said this matter demonstrated the strong, continuing relationship the firm had with Brambles.
'We are very pleased to have assisted Brambles on this acquisition. We have an excellent relationship with the management team and we are delighted to have assisted in the company's strategy of diversifying in areas with strong equipment pooling and growth characteristics,' he said.
'This matter once again showcases the seamless global coverage that Allens and Linklaters can provide our clients.'
