Allens has advised Potentia Energy on the approximately $830 million refinancing of its renewables portfolio, comprising more than 600 MW of solar, battery energy storage system (BESS) and wind construction and operating assets across Australia.

The refinancing brings together Potentia Energy’s existing financing arrangements under one portfolio platform, providing streamlined terms, greater flexibility and risk mitigation, as well as a platform for funding the group’s future 9 GW+ development pipeline.

‘This is a transformational transaction for Potentia Energy – and its sponsors, Enel and Inpex – in consolidating and optimising its financing for its Australian renewables investments. It also reflects the continued evolution of the Australian renewables market, as sponsors and financiers move towards portfolio structures and platforms that enhance scalability, efficiency and diversification across technologies,’ said Lead Partner Lisa Zhou.

Potentia Energy's portfolio includes the Bungala Solar Farms 1 and 2, Cohuna Solar Farm, Girgarre Solar Farm, Royalla Solar Farm, Flat Rocks Stage 1 Wind Farm and the Quorn Park Solar and BESS Project.

The transaction builds on Allens’ market-leading experience advising on renewables portfolio financings, including for ACEN Australia, Atmos, CPERI, CWP Renewables, Foresight, FRV, Neoen and GPG.
