About Natasha Burns
Natasha is a highly experienced lawyer with over 20 years' experience in the protection, management and commercialisation of trade mark and other IP rights. Natasha has managed the trade mark portfolios of some of the world's leading companies. She has significant international experience, previously spending 12 years as a partner in a leading IP firm in New York before returning to Australia, and is qualified to practice law in both Australia and the United States.
Natasha's relevant experience includes:
- Handling several thousand trade mark application, opposition and cancellation matters in over 100 different countries.
- Managed large-scale trade mark portfolios for global and domestic clients in the food and beverage, oil & gas, automotive and financial services sectors amongst others.
- Advised on all aspects of intellectual property law, including protection and enforcement strategies.
- Represented clients before the Federal Court of Australia, various U.S. District Courts, at oral hearings before IP Australia and in conjunction with foreign counsel before the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Natasha is a regular contributor to the Journal of The Intellectual Property Society of Australia & New Zealand, moderator at International Trademark Association (INTA) conference and speaker for LegalWise seminars.
