Glenys specialises in mergers and acquisitions, mainly in the resources sector. She has extensive experience as a corporate and commercial lawyer, having acted for all types of clients, including State Governments and major national and international corporations, across a range of industries, especially mining in both Australian and overseas jurisdictions. She has worked in the firm's offices in Asia, in particular Mongolia, and on Mongolian transactions. Her experience has extended to all aspects of property and commercial transactions, corporate governance and compliance. Glenys has highly developed drafting, research, reporting and organisational skills. Her depth of knowledge and experience and her ability to anticipate and identify issues, to draft complex transaction documentation and to organise and drive complex completion processes are valuable resources for clients.
Her experience includes the sale of AMCI's Australian coal assets to Vale, the sale of the Tarong Coal Mine by Rio Tinto to Tarong Energy Corporation and numerous other asset and business sales for Rio Tinto. She was the firm's key legal adviser to the Queensland Government on the Western Hardwood Timber Crown Allocation Buyback project and the Due Diligence and Data Room Co-ordinator in the listing of QR National by the Queensland Government.
Glenys also specialises in the non-profit sector, especially in the establishment and operation of charitable and non-profit organisations, trusts, associations and funds, including for State Governments, the Great Barrier Reef Foundation and The Australian Rainforest Conservation Society Inc.
She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
