Allens has advised Janus Henderson Investors on its strategic partnership with Insignia Financial, which includes the acquisition of three specialist investment management businesses: Antares Fixed Income, Antares Equities and Insignia's 40% interest in Fairview Equity Partners.
The three businesses manage approximately $33 billion across Australian fixed income, broad-cap equities and small-cap equities.
Allens advised Janus Henderson on all aspects of the transaction, including due diligence, transaction documentation and regulatory approvals.
'This transaction represents an important strategic investment in the Australian market and further strengthens Janus Henderson's local investment capability,' said lead partner Julian Donnan.
'The acquisition brings together highly regarded investment teams and capabilities while establishing a long-term partnership with one of Australia's leading wealth management providers.'
Funds partner Penny Nikoloudis, who worked on the transaction, said: 'Following a period of sustained consolidation and investment in the Australian financial services sector, we continue to see strong deal activity, particularly involving asset managers, wealth platforms and specialist investment businesses.'
